My recording of Alejandro Escovedo is currently seeded on Dimeadozen and permanently hosted on the Live Music Archive. Also, I’ve just seeded last night’s John Wesley Harding show on Dime. In the next few days I’ll post a recap and some photos of both shows…

Upcoming Shows!
Posted: 4th April 2010 by SJ Taper in Future ShowsTags: Alejandro Escovedo, Bordentown, Concerts In the Studio, Cordero, David Johansen, Exene Cervenka, Freehold, house concert, Jen & Dave's, John Doe, John Wesley Harding, Kung Fu Necktie, Moorestown, NJ, PA, Philadelphia, Record Collector, The Figgs, The Joy Formidable, The M Room
Here are a few of the shows shows that I hope to be able to attend in the near future:
April 10 – Cordero – Moorestown, NJ – Jen & Dave’s
April 11 – Alejandro Escovedo – Freehold, NJ – Concerts In The Studio
April 17 – John Wesley Harding – Bordentown, NJ – The Record Collector
May 1 – John Doe & Exene Cervenka – Freehold, NJ – Concerts In The Studio
May 7 – The Joy Formidable – Philadelphia, PA – Kung Fu Necktie
May 16 - The Figgs – Philadelphia, PA – The M Room
June 4 – David Johansen – Bordentown, NJ – Record Collector
You’ve no doubt heard of most of these artists, but may not be familiar with The Joy Formidable. They’re a three piece band from the UK and I’ve been following them for about a year now through several live recordings currently in circulation. They’ve only played a handful of dates here in the States and the May date will be their first Philly appearance. I think this band will be huge before you know it…

Friday night’s show is now uploaded to the Live Music Archive and can be downloaded in three different formats. FLAC is the preferred format since it’s a lossless form of compression, but MP3 and Ogg Vorbis are available as well. The latter two formats are lossy forms of compression.
The performance itself was classic Hamell – funny, passionate, and thought provoking. Hamell On Trial is admittedly not for everyone, but if you enjoy your music a little more adventurous than the standard cookie cutter indie rock that’s prevalent today you may find this to be very enjoyable. Give it a try, the entire show can be streamed from here:
